Toure Khady Malombe – Figure Athlete

Toure has an amazing physique and is definitely a future pro in the making!

With her knowledge in fitness and her ‘never give up’ attitude, Toure is bound to turn heads and have people talking when she walks on stage.

Here’s a more about Toure Khady Malombe

1. Briefly share with us your background (Education, Interests, etc.)?

I’m originally from the Ivory Coast and moved to Montreal at the age of 18.

I did my CEGEP at College Français in Montreal and after graduating from high school, I went for my Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences. Unfortunately, I never graduated because I hated it.

I knew from then on that I need to interact with people and the best way to do it was through sports. The Bachelor in Kinesiology was perfect for me because it helped in fulfilling both passions: my love for sports and the ability to help others.

2. Who has inspired you the most to succeed as a Fitness Competitor?

Growing up I was an active kid. I used to play a lot of tennis, swam and ran a lot. Fitness for me was the best thing ever.

I decided to start competing after losing 30 lbs in 8 months (from April 2007 at 170 lbs to November 2007 at 140lbs).

My mentor was my boss from my first job. Her name is Janette Norodom Joly. This woman changed my life by making me realize I needed to change my ways of eating.

Since this day I became more aware of what I was putting in my body. The proverb: “You are what you eat” became so clear to me.

3. What competitions have you made appearances in? From these, what were your placements (titles won)?

I remember going to my first competition telling myself that it was just for the stage experience. My first competition was in 2008 FCPAQ in Montréal. I didn’t place but it was enough to get me hooked.

With my trainer, we started working harder on my physique and it paid off in 2009.

  • 2009 Fame Quebec 1st Place Figure
  • 2009 Fame World Championships 1st Place Figure
  • 2009 Fame Canadian Nationals  4th Place Figure
  • 2010 WBFF Quebec 3rd Place Figure
  • 2010 WBFF World Championships did not place

After all these competitions, I decided to take time off because we all know how competing is hard on the body.

I’m planning on coming back in a better shape next year. This year I ran more and did the marathon in Ottawa and qualified for the Boston marathon next year!

4. When is your next upcoming show? What will be your competing class?

My next show will be in 2012. I need to decide between IDFA, CBBF, or WBFF. For now I already started my prep and looking for a coach since my other coach moved away. I will still be competing in the figure tall class.

I am hoping to achieve my pro card in 2012.

5. Where can fans find out more about you (website, published magazines, etc.)?
My fans can find more about me on my Facebook page. I’m planning to start a blog this year where I am going to explain the steps of my training.

I will use this opportunity to thank everyone that believed in me from the beginning. The help and support that I received was a great source of inspiration and it helped me go through hard times. To finish I will like to tell everyone out there to never say “never”. If you truly believe in something you can really make it happen.
